Calling Mei Noguchi, can you hear me Mei Noguchi
Hi there, if anyone can get me a link to Mei's blog or refer her to mine I would be most grateful
Re House of Usher Unit2/3 project concepts.
Well, 2011 is weary and ready to shed it's skin. I trust all revellers have plans in place (or at least experienced enough to realise that on this, above all occasions, pre planning is an utter waste of time).
I digress, as I am won't to do. The previous post of the 'Husher' image is nearing a point of realisation, this was just a quick paint job to free my hand up as much as anything else. Both my final Unit 2 and unit 3 pieces will have a more open, drawn back perspective showing the house in it's entirety.
I'm not sure if the image properly communicates the gist but I would like to give the impression (both in 2 and 3d) that the house is hewn from the living rock. When I have managed this I will try to install that sense of foreboding, or the uncanny if you will. Hopefuly I can do Poe justice.
As ever all comments and criticisms are welcome.

Ho Ho Hoeth
Evening everyone, I trust Santa brought you all you wanted.
I'm currently working through building my scene, or at least component parts of it, furniture etc. I shall post pics when I have finished items to show.
I'm struggling to find the root of my scene. That is, I'm in a directionless state, clearly in need of more research, but aware of the fact that I need to be producing, whilst still attempting to distill das unheimlich.
Phil suggested I combine my efforts for Unit 3 with the resubmissions required for Unit 2. With that in mind I intend to use elements from my 'Fall of the House of Usher' resub as the basis of my Unit 3 Matte painting.
Thanks to my beautiful Rosie for the ability to bring this message to you using the wonders of t'internet.
The introduction for my essay will be posted soon. I think an interesting tack might be to dissect films (not from the unit 3 series) that have, for me, found their uncanny. Try to ascertain what it is that gives the elements of that illusive and fragile communication. In doing so I hope to find inspiration for my scene.
As ever, all enquiries and criticisms are most welcome.

Alright here?
Venturing home now people to squeeze out some film review words, read a little Freud and prepare myself for work.
Festive greetings to you and yours, I shall be in the base room for the next two days. If I don't see you before, Merry Christmas, work hard and a big happy birthday Jesus.

Errm. Help please.
I need the link to become a member on the group blog. For some reason I haven't sorted this out!! Damn me!
If anyone can assist that would be greatly appreciated.
The issue I am looking to resolve is this, I cannot load the Hypershade window in the first of the Pirate Cove tutorials. The window doesn't seem to be reduced anywhere, Maya won't allow me to open it using another means. While I can use the rendering menu to create my Lambert and Nodes, import my altered 'sand' image I need the hyper shade window to be able to progress.
If anyone can help me with this issue I would be very, festive grateful, failing that details on being able to post on the group blog would be lovely.
Thank you people :)

And also...
These are the five concept headshots I prepared (along with another 35 or so thumbnails) for my unit 1 resubmission. I then forgot to get them uploaded in all the excitement. Genius! Any way, enjoy,i'll get the thumbnails up in the week.
Festive ramblings.
Morning folks, couple of quick posts today.
Firstly there are my unit 3 thumbnails. There were finished a couple of weeks ago just before 'Don't Look Now' in the film cycle.
While there isn't an awful lot of structure to the way the images are arranged I hope they provoke something in the viewer. In the meantime I shall re-read Freud in my search for the "unheimlich".
Merry Christmas

Friday Morning.
Well, the last of my revised film reviews have just been posted. My Maya is just about to be. I couldn't quite get it all done, but I have done my best.
